On Friday 7th of April, Sweden experienced a horrific act of violence in the heart of our capital, Stockholm.

Erasmus Student Network Sweden had a national event in Stockholm a few days before this incident. We encourage any of our Erasmus or ESN students who feel affected to seek support from their local sections or universities. All ESN volunteers in Stockholm have been confirmed safe and we have received no reports to suggest any Erasmus students were affected by this attack. If you would like to speak to a member of ESN Sweden, please contact us at [email protected].

We want our Erasmus students to continue to feel safe in Sweden, to call our home their home, remain united in fighting against despicable acts that affect our beautiful capital. We stand with the Prime Minister of Sweden, Stefan Löfven, in the words:

“Terrorists want us to be afraid, want us to change our behaviour, want us to not live our lives in a normal way. But that is what we are going to do. Terrorists can never defeat Sweden. Never."

If you have questions or information to the authorities about the event, contact the Police on phone number 114 14.

Our volunteers offer their help and support to anyone who needs it.
